The city of Elgin's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee is bringing two great bicycle education opportunities to Elgin.

On October 15th, a basics course from the League of American Bicyclists call Smart Cycling (aka: TS 101) will be hosted in Elgin. This course is open to any riders that want to learn the basics of riding in traffic. The course will be led by two local League Certified Instructors. The course costs $20 and will have 5 hours of on-bike instruction in a closed course and then on a street ride. There is a 4 hour online component that needs to be completed prior to the on-bike portion. All interested individuals can find more information and register on this LAB webpage.

The second opportunity on November 10-12, is a the League Certified Instructor Course. This course takes the next big steps of training individuals to instruct a variety of Smart Cycling programs. For more information and register for the Elgin seminar check out the LAB webpage.
